Tomorrow I'll be traveling the 6,697 miles from California to Turkey. I'm headed there on an inspirational trip, to scout out new food adventures and travels to write about when I return. Istanbul quite literally sits at the intersection of East and West, and Turkish food draws from its rich Ottoman history as well as Greek, Kurdish, Balkan, Armenian, Jewish, Bulgarian, Syrian, Circassian, and Laz cultures.
