Well, hello! I'm Susannah Chen, a writer and content creator based in San Francisco. For over five years, I was the editor of POPSUGAR Food, an online magazine offering up-to-the-minute knowledge on food trends, chef and restaurant news, and what to serve for any occasion. In my time there, I tackled everything from writing and editing to video hosting and social media to food styling and photography. I interviewed Rachael Ray and Ruth Reichl, snacked on dung beetles, talked trends on live TV, got behind the stove at Manhattan's now-defunct Carnegie Deli, and roasted my own beans at Starbucks's roasting plant—all for the sake of a good story.
I hold an undergraduate degree from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. I've been cited in The Wall Street Journal and Salon, and have written about cuisine, culture, lifestyle, and business for outlets ranging from Woman's Day to Bloomberg BusinessWeek. When I'm not cooking, writing, tweeting, 'gramming or tinkering with recipes, I'm on the hunt to find the world's best chilaquiles.
